What You Are About To Learn
We are starting off with a Daruma (dharma doll) suspension (daruma-zuri, 達磨吊り). This is followed by a single-leg embrace suspension (kata-kakae-zuri, 片抱吊り).
We then discover the intricacies of the classical reverse shrimp suspension (gyaku-ebi-zuri, 逆海老吊り) -- sometimes referred to as face-down or hogtie suspension.
The course then culminates in a torturous crotch suspension (omekozuri, オメコ吊り). Due to the somewhat taxing demands on ukete (rope receiver, 受け手) one doesn't see this very often. As a result, a number of names for this suspension are floating around, such as mekozuri (めこ吊り), matazuri (股吊り), or mankozuri (まんこ).
In the Advanced Level (上級, joukyu) of the Osada-ryu (長田流) school system, the techniques taught are increasingly complicated.
To fully benefit from this course it is therefore recommended you have completed ALL kyu (級) skill levels 9 to 3.
