Kinbaku Memory Lane
In this second workshop by master Jyubei Kamui (神威十兵衛) we are again treated to the traditional approaches of semenawa (責縄).
Jyubei Kamui is the third-generation (三代目, sandaime) headmaster of the Bakuyukai (縛友会) Society that was originally founded by grandmaster Akechi Denki (明智伝鬼) and Miura Takumi (神浦匠) sensei.
What Awaits You Inside
The workshop starts with two hishinawa (菱縄) ties -- one with large diamonds, one with small diamonds.
It then demonstrates a complex and original 'three-layer' tie (三つ引き, mitsubiki).
This is followed by zainin shibari (罪人縛り), a bondage meant for lawbreakers and 'sinners'.
Osada Steve then gets himself arrested torinawa (捕縄) aka hojojutsu-style in a demonstration of Edo-period law enforcement.
As a final highlight we are treated to a live performance.
